nailed to the cross every night

then resurrected every morning

he went followed by a trail of slime

Ethereal

Main Entry: ethe·re·al

Pronunciation: \e-'thir-e-al\

Function: Musician/Scientist

1 a : Of or relating to the regions beyond the earth, suggesting the heavens or heaven..

Ethereal was born into this world to Glenda Ann and Ollie Charles July 10th, 1989. Exposed to a wide variety of music at a young age, it was only a matter of time before he began to relay his inner musician/scientist. At year 16 he began making bedroom beats and backpack raps with his close friends, "grinding" across every social network and medium available. His dormant musical prowess came to shine after the passing of his near and dear mother. Some think this drove him mad sending him into a reclusive, hermetic state. While others know and agree this was just an experience that he is still growing and sharpening his mental swords from. Now on the rise after adamantly self-promoting, insuring, and safeguarding himself he is ready to take on this planet. Now at 24 he has an impressive and extensive library of music under his belt ranging from 90's Drum and Bass to the farthest opposite end of the spectrum. Fusing elements from every musical scene into one, he has close to perfected his style and sound, making him an honorable opponent on any of the three major weapons; Microphone, Beats, or the wheels of steel. Ethereal's live performance may be his most amazing skill yet. With the ability to not only convey his dialect and phonics with crytal clear imagery through a microphone, he does it while mixing and performing with live instrumentation. Ethereal has opened for the likes of TOKiMONSTA, Kendrick Lamar, and Yelawolf just to name a few. Back into the realm of production and composing, he has a plethora of epic electronic covers of names like Telepop Muzik, T-Pain, Hikaru Utada, Brittany Bosco, Nikki Jean, and Sonnymoon's Anna Wise. He's worked with the likes of 1320Records SubID, Opio of Souls of Mischief, Rittz, Yelawolf, Introspective Minds, Lazymane & Kosherbeets, and ATL's Clan Destined just to name a few. He also owns the keys to an equally awesome supply of original compositions. Ethereal is dropping his 2nd major effort titled 'E' October 31st of 2013.

Keithcharles Spacebar

One of the first members of the Awful crew, KeithCharles Spacebar first emerged in 2011 with a jazzy, Soulquarian-inspired sound, but by the time he dropped HOWTO[COUNT] late last year, he had expanded his influences beyond neo-soul and golden age hip-hop. “I like nostalgic music, but it’s better to do something that hasn’t been done,” he says. “You have to kill your heroes.”

The five-track EP displayed an experimental streak; last month’sKEEP[COUNT] streamlined those instincts into one of the heaviest Awful releases yet. Taking cues from Timbaland, After Dark, Gucci and more, his greatest strengths might lie in production; he’s produced Archibald Slim’s He’s Drunk!, RichPoSlim’s Brawl, and Father’s ‘Fake AF’. “I spit beats out faster than everybody else,” he says of his recent streak. “I just make something and move on, make something and move on.”

On ‘Drink My Spit’, he distilled Awful’s promise into one lyric — “we the new No Limit” — a sentiment shared by the scores of people who saw the crew at CMJ. “As an artist, you see your peers on a ground level: people your age, some like you, some don’t,” he explains. “But when we went to New York, we saw live ass fans: teenagers coming out every fucking night. That blew my mind.”

Micah Freeman

Micah Freeman, a Baltimore, MD native residing in Atlanta, GA, is a lyricist, singer, producer, and multimedia visual artist most frequently recognized for his unconventional blend of musical elements of hip-hop, soul, and electronic music.
Freeman has gained attention with his music & face circulating the internet via social networks and blogs, as well as on stages, shared by the likes of Anthony David, Theophilus London, Miguel, Cy-Hi Da Prynce, J*Davey, Kilo Kish, Jesse Boykins III, and many others. In August of 2012, his long-awaited first album, The Timepiece was released, featuring production from industry heavyweight DJ Khalil, as well as from the Super 3 production team, a sub-group within the Odd Future collective. The Timepiece is a concept album in which the listener is led on an inter-dimensional journey by his assumed role: a Time Traveler, in search of “all that is timeless.” His travels through time are sonically evident in his incorporation of several elements of music from different eras & genres including (but not limited to) 90's hip-hop, 80's pop, 70's dance music, and 60's soul.
Raised in a multi-cultural household, Micah Freeman experienced his share of diversity. His father, a Jewish new Yorker, and mother an African-American South Carolinian, exposed him to the sounds of old R&B, Soul, Classic Rock, & even Yiddish Klezmer music. His older brother, Grammy nominated songwriter/guitarist Duane Covert, noted for his work with India Arie & Charlie Wilson, had a considerable influence on young Micah as well. Traces of this array of influences can be seen and experienced in his style, his sound, subject matter, and demeanor.
He is now said to be concocting a self-produced project which will move deeper into, and explore this timeless, inter-dimensional sound, one that can only be properly experienced by being Present with him. More will be seen and heard in the near future as the Time Traveler's journey continues..
