The Whigs are a three piece rock band from Athens, Georgia.  Formed in 2002 while attending the University of Georgia, The Whigs played their first shows around campus and soon graduated to higher-profile performances including opening slots for the likes of the Drive-By Truckers and the Killers.  Recording sessions for the band’s self-released debut album, Give 'Em All A Big Fat Lip, took place in an empty fraternity house in 2005 and by the following year the band’s audience had widened considerably, prompting Rolling Stone to declare that the band could be “the best unsigned band in America.”  Over the last decade, the band has released five critically lauded studio albums and toured the world consistently as either headliners or openers for the likes of Kings of Leon, Black Keys, and MGMT.  Their fifth album, Modern Creation, was released in 2014 and the band is currently crafting material for a sixth studio album in their new hometown of Nashville, Tennessee.
