The formula starts with drummer Nikki Glaspie(Dumpstaphunk, Beyoncé)'s deep pocket, explosive energy and silky vocals, compounded by bassist Nate Edgar (John Brown's Body), whose quiet confidence lies in perfect contrast to the emphatic, funky low-end he creates. Next, the unmistakable vocals of Nigel Hall (Lettuce, Warren Haynes Band) and his innate ability to preach with a keyboard hit the groove in full force. Over the top comes Nick Cassarino (Jennifer Hartswick Band, Big Daddy Kane), oozing more soul in one finger than most guitarists could create in a lifetime, and with a voice that immediately wraps the room in sex appeal. West African djembe master Weedie Braimah (Toubab Krewe, Kreative Pandemonium) is the final X-factor, creating a rhythmic symphony that completes the equation with resounding finesse. The group released an independent EP, Basic Minimum Skills Test, in April 2013 and is currently recording their debut full-length studio album, Abundance.
