While toiling hours away in their van playing shows around the country Jimkata discovered what all humans love: a good song.  Crafting their song writing skills while exploring new instruments in the studio over the last eight years created two albums (2009's Burn My Money and 2012's Die Digital) and three EPs (2007's Jimkata, 2010's Ghosts & Killers and 2014's Feel In Light) all while touring the country in between.  Now 2015 finds Jimkata returning to the studio with the help of their fans to create their third album to be released this fall and embarking on a 40 date national tour to play those good songs to those great fans.

Jimkata’s innovative, fan-funded record Die Digital turned the heads of critics and musicians alike when it dropped in the Fall of 2012, solidifying the band’s reputation as forward-thinking artists to pay attention to. Jimkata’s refined anthemic synth-washed electro-rock sound is one of a band that has found its voice after years of touring and experimentation; songs celebrating the best of times through the toughest of times all the while grateful for the opportunity to be alive. In the spirit of LCD Soundsystem, MGMT and Talking Heads Jimkata’s relevant, quotable lyrics create moods not just for fleeting moments, but for the lifestyle of an entire generation.

Following the release of their first live record 10 More Songs! (2013), Jimkata released their third studio EP and sixth official release Feel In Light on March 4th, 2014. Recorded with Die Digital producer Jocko Randall at his MoreSound Studios in Syracuse, NY Feel In Light represents the continued evolution of this modern rock band’s sound - one simpler in essence – exploring themes of love, triumph and appreciating second chances in life.

A staple of the festival circuit from the Rockies to the Atlantic, Jimkata has appeared at Gathering of The Vibes, Summer Camp, Catskill Chill, The Peach Music Festival, Camp Bisco and many many others.
